Political wellness
Section 11
Civic voice, civic responsibility
This section
Helping people understand how government works and how to participate responsibly in civic life without making the Tribune a partisan publication. This includes government accountability, elections and voting information, legislative activity, public spending, elected officials’ promises and records, constituent services, regulatory agencies, public records, lobbying, civic education, governmental authority, taxes and public policy, and monitoring whether public institutions are carrying out their duties. This also reflects R13’s vision of developing people in voting precincts who can monitor state and federal officials and report useful information back to their communities. Political Wellness should focus on knowledge, accountability, and participation—not telling readers whom to support.
